Location Recording: Shawn Hess

Shawn Hess, a good friend and one of my favorite songwriters, performs his original song "Harvest Me" within the comfort of his own home in Laramie, WY. We had some fun utilizing two of Grace Design's ROXI preamp units along with some effects used to taste. Reverb on the acoustic and a little bit of overdrive on the vocals. Microphones utilized are made by Josephson Engineering (C705 on Vocals & C617 on Acoustic Guitar). I use the Grace Design ROXI preamps in my live acoustic setup as well as in the studio when tracking artists. They are incredibly clean sounding and have a ton of features.

Music Video: Pleasure People

Check out the Official Music Video for the song "Afraid", a dark folk song that is one of the defining tracks from Pleasure People's debut full-length album titled "All Black & Blue". This song and the rest of the album were recorded and mixed here at Harmonyx.

Studio Session: Cory McDaniel

A good friend, Cory McDaniel performs his rendition of Ron Davies' song "It Ain't Easy" at Harmonyx Audio's recording studio in Casper, Wyoming. Harmonyx Audio provides professional, studio quality, audio recording, mixing, & mastering services.

Studio Session: Dale Bohren

Dale Bohren (Casper, WY) performs three waltzes by Domenico Dragonetti (1790-1846) on orchestral bass. Dale starts out with a great story about his instrument and how it would become his own, given to him as a gift from his Dad.

Owner / Engineer / Producer

Nick has been writing and composing music for over 25 years. He studied at the Institute of Production & Recording in Minneapolis, MN, where he earned a degree in Audio Production, Engineering, Composition, Scoring, and Music Business, along with a Pro Tools Operator Certification.

While songwriting and music creation remain at the heart of his work, Nick built Harmonyx Audio as a space where both the creative and technical sides of music come together. His approach is artist-centered and intentional:
